German Foxtail Millet is a warm season annual grass, also known as German Strain R Millet or Foxtail Millet. It can be harvested for hay or used for grazing for livestock and wildlife, including deer and game birds. German millet matures quickly, producing coarse, leafy, slender stems that grow from 2-5 feet tall.
Planting information: plant in late spring/early summer at a rate of 15-20 lbs. per acre (if drilled) or 20-30 lbs. per acre (if broadcast). Seed should be placed at a depth of 1/4-1/2 inch in soil with a pH of 5.5-7.
